Understanding climate change

Climate Change means Earth’s weather getting hotter and more extreme because humans are burning fuels like gas and coal, as well as extracting and degrading ecosystems like forests.

Our actions add gases such as CO2 and methane to the air, trapping heat like a big blanket. This causes unpredictable storms, melting ice, rising seas, overheating, drought, fires, floods, diseases like covid, biodiversity loss, species extinction and competition over resources.

We are also taking too many precious resources from our planet — more than nature is able to replace.
