Planet Earth
The Blue Planet is a nickname for Earth. About 71% of its surface is covered in water, so from space, Earth appears mostly blue due to the vast oceans reflecting sunlight. The first Earthrise photo of the our entire blue planet was taken on 24th December 1968.
